Hi everyone, I have a fun review for you today. I have been watching the Selkie website for a while now. They have "The Puff Dress." For those of you who do not know what The Puff Dress is, it is basically a very puffy Victorian Era style dress with big bell sleeves. Small and wide arm holes with lots of layers of fabric used. I have seen these dresses all over Instagram, and I really do like them. Until I saw the price tag. They range from $250 and up, so like any young adult I turned to Amazon, lol. Amazon always has great dupes of really expensive pieces. I bought one dress and will be reviewing it down below.

To start, the pattern and color look exactly like the original Selkie dress. They both give off a blue and white cloud pattern perfect for summer. You honestly cannot tell the difference. Next, I do not like the material. It is 100% Polyester. The original is 100% Polyester Organza. It is very itchy and scratchy. Especially on the bell sleeves, that area is the main part where it is itchy. The bottom half is not. I knew it was going to be a little itchy because of the style of the dress and previous reviews; however, it has just too much uncomfortableness. There was no smell when I took the dress out of the package and tried it on. You all know I like my items with no pre-existing smell, so I was very glad it has no foul odor.
The size gets a 7/10 from me because it flows very nicely. You can twirl and move your arms around with no problem; however, the bust area is just too tight. It was hard to breathe because of how tight the dress was on my chest. I got a size S, and still wouldn't have gone bigger because the rest of the dress fit great. If I would have gone to an M, then there would have been too much fabric, and I would be drowning in it. It was just in the bust area that was too tight fitting. As it says on the original Selkie website, "This item depends on the bust size only." Lastly, the shape is beautiful. No complainants about the shape because I just love the puffiness and all of the extra fabric used that makes you feel like a princess.
All in all, I rate this Selkie Dupe a 7/10. I think it is just fun to wear for a garden photoshoot or out to a fancy dinner. It is not an everyday piece. I did return it because it was just too tight in the bust area, and I could not get past the itchiness. If you are looking to feel like a princess for a day, I would totally get this dupe. I will link the Selkie Puff Dress Dupe again here. I am very glad I bought it and tried it out because now I know how I feel about that type of dress.
