Ondavu 4-Step Haircare Routine

Today's blog post is sponsored by Ondavu. Ondavu started from a small, unglamorous observation: the step of your self-care hair routine people forget the most, is the most important one. For example, the scalp massage. Done with your fingers it is genuinely pleasant, for about ninety seconds, until your hands get tired. Done with a rigid tool it can feel like too much. So, the routine gets skipped, and then skipped again, and then it is no longer a routine anymore. Ondavu has created a 4-step routine to offer a solution.

Root Pulse

Root Pulse is a dry-use personal-care massage comb. The supplied illustrated manual covers the scalp, forehead, temples, cheeks and nasolabial folds, plus the side/back neck, shoulders and upper chest above the clavicle. Facial care is Level 1 only, after removing makeup. Start gently, move slowly and allow about 3–5 minutes per area as comfortable. Hold the lower power button for about 3 seconds to switch on or off. Press the upper + button to increase; briefly press the lower button to decrease. Five levels run at approximately 900, 1200, 1600, 2000 and 2400 RPM.

4 Clear Moves:

  • Power On- Hold the power button for about 3 seconds. Begin at level 1

  • Move Slowly- Guide the chosen head across a clean, dry scalp with light pressure

  • Choose A Level- Use the upper button to increase and the lower button to decrease through five settings

  • Wipe & Store- Switch off, then wipe with a dry soft cloth. Do not clean with water

Root Reset

Root Reset is the first step in the ONDAVU routine. A pre-shampoo scalp serum with lactic acid, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate and nettle leaf extract. Its lightweight gel formula that gently exfoliates and helps refresh the feel of the scalp before washing. Apply to dry scalp, use only 1-2 per week, leave for 3–5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Root Oil

A botanical pre-wash oil with rosemary, sunflower, castor, sweet almond, argan, hemp, olive and avocado oil condition the hair. It helps nourish dry-feeling hair and scalp and leaves hair looking glossy after washing. Apply sparingly, massage gently. Leave for at least 15 minutes, then shampoo and rinse thoroughly.

Root Mist

The effortless finishing step for hair that feels rough, frizzy or difficult to manage. Hydrolyzed keratin conditions the hair, lactic acid supports a polished feel, and furcellaria lumbricalis red-algae extract helps leave hair softer and easier to handle. Spray it onto clean, damp hair, work it through gently and style as usual. This leave-in formula needs no rinsing.
