Today on the blog, I will be reviewing Dr. Zenovia's skincare. I posted a sponsored photo on Instagram about the brand, and got so many questions if I was going to review the products I received. I did not plan on it, but after many requests I figured why not?! I received three products. I will be reviewing two of them: The Bakuchiol Hydrating Cleanser & The Peptide + Ceramide Repairing Moisturizer.
The Bakuchiol Hydrating Cleanser
This product is best used when you are taking all of your makeup off at the end of the day. The website says, "It thoroughly removes environmental pollutants, excess oil and makeup while refreshing and moisturizing the skin with Yucca Root and Panthenol." Personally, I used this product at the end of the day. I opened up my pores with warm water rubbed this all over my face, left it on for 1-2 minutes then washed it off with cold water. It has a very strong smell of oranges and citrus, which is very refreshing to me. If you do not like the smell of oranges, I do not recommend at all because this cleanser smells just like the fruit. This cleanser is not sticky at all. It feels slimy; however, it does not give you that annoying, sticky feeling. After washing off the cleanser, my face smelled so fresh and felt very smooth. The bottle sells for $38, and you get a lot of product for that price. 4.0 fl. oz. to be exact. I hate when you have to pay a lot of money for tiny bottles with hardly any product. That is not the case with Dr. Zenovia's products.
The Peptide + Ceramide Repairing Moisturizer
This product is a little more pricy than the other one. It sells for $79 for 1.7 fl. oz. The website says, "Free of alcohol and fragrance, this unique combination of bio-equivalent ceramides, potent humectants and emollients helps attract, retain and distribute moisture to fortify skin’s protective barrier and combat dryness for a glowing, radiant complexion." I use this product right before going to bed. All of my makeup has been off for awhile, I have been relaxing in PJ's, watching T.V, and my face has gotten greasy from my glasses. I love to put a repairing cream on my face right before bed, so my face does not stay greasy all night. I do not get a strong scent from this product. The texture feels like a thick lotion. I recommend putting a pea size amount on your face before bed. Wake up, and you will feel the difference the next day.
All in all, Dr. Zenovia has great skincare products that she is launching online & at Sephora. Even the packaging and bottles are high quality. I was quite impressed when I got them in the mail, how much time and effort went into everything.
